FinPOST is the Finance Programme for Operations and Services Transformation.

The programme aims to transform finance in UCD by working with our colleagues to identify the services needed and to design and implement effective processes and modern collaborative ways of working to deliver those services. As part of the transformation programme, we will introduce a modern finance system that will allow us to meet those needs efficiently and to offer enhanced value-added services.

Workday was chosen as the supplier of our new Finance System. Workday is a user-friendly, cloud based technology and is used in other highly ranked, research-intensive universities. Workday demonstrates a very strong match against UCD requirements.

Our Finance systems are nearing obsolescence, this provides us with an opportunity to implement a leading practice solution that is better suited to the digital needs of our University Community and the way we work together in today’s world. There have been gaps and shortfalls in the Finance processes and systems often resulting in cumbersome and tedious tasks, for the Finance Office and the wider University Community. FinPOST will help us close those gaps and provide an enhanced experience for those who provide and receive finance services in the University.

The programme officially launched in January 2023. Click here to visit the launch email from Bursar and Programme Sponsor, David Kelly.

The FinPOST transformation programme is set to be a complex programme of work, the current timelines estimate programme completion in 2025.

As FinPOST progresses we will be issuing updates and communications to the University over the course of the programme.
