What is happening:
As in previous years, please be advised of significant traffic disruption and essential road closures that will impact the Belfield campus and surrounding areas on Sunday, 26 October 2025, to facilitate the annual Irish Life Dublin Marathon.
The roads surrounding the UCD campus will be subject to closures and diversions. Please note that access to and from the Belfield campus will be severely restricted from approximately 08:30 - 17:30.
- Vehicle access to and from the Belfield campus via entrances on the N11/Stillorgan Road, Roebuck Road, and Clonskeagh Road will be blocked. Access to campus is possible only through Greenfield Park. The N11 slip road is also available for vehicles to exit the campus.
- If you are required to be on campus on this date, vehicles must be parked before the road closures come into effect. It will not be possible to exit any affected campus entrances until the roads have fully reopened.
- Dublin Bus and other transport services operating near the campus will be subject to extensive diversions and delays. We strongly advise avoiding all non-essential travel to campus. If you must travel, plan your journey with ample extra time and be prepared for significant delays, as access will be severely restricted by road closures. Follow all instructions from UCD staff, An Garda Síochána, and marshals. Alternatively, consider walking or cycling to avoid traffic bottlenecks, but be aware of crowds near the route.
