Lucky Khambule
Lucky is co-founder of the Movement for Asylum Seekers in Ireland (MASI), a migrant led group that was established in 2014 (while Lucky was in direct provision) and which is a platform for asylum seekers “to seek justice, freedom and dignity for all asylum seekers”. The organisation advocates for the rights of those seeking protection in Ireland. Lucky has been instrumental not only in establishing this group but also in leading the organisation and in ensuring the voices of people seeking international protection are heard and listened to by policy makers, practitioners and the general public. MASI, led by Lucky, have spearheaded several significant campaigns for asylum seekers, including the right to work campaign and the right to education campaign.
