Exploring Drama as Creative Pedagogy

This week our BEd in Education, Gaeilge and Modern Languages students had the privilege of working with drama educator and communications expert Gabrielle Breathnach from Discovery Drama. Gabrielle led the students on a journey during this workshop exploring effective communication, nurturing wellbeing, tapping into our creative selves, and working with freeze frames and scripts to release the transformative power of drama as pedagogy in the language classroom. There was an air of anticipation, curiosity, creativity and fun in the room. It was clear the students could make the connection between their own engagement with drama as pedagogy and  the possibilities for applying it to their teaching in the language classroom.
