If so, be prepared to step into the world of discovery and groundbreaking research as twelve leading female and non-binary scientists take to their soapboxes to share their passion and expertise.  Soapbox Science Dublin is back, hitting South King Street on Saturday 15 June from 12pm to 3pm!  Whether you're a science enthusiast, a curious mind, or just looking for an inspiring day out, this free, family friendly event promises something for everyone.

Each speaker will deliver a dynamic 15-minute talk, delving into their area of expertise and shedding light on the wonders of modern research.  Prepare to be inspired by the diverse lineup of speakers from UCD, Trinity College Dublin, the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI), DCU, Maynooth University, and the University of Galway.  Soapbox Science isn't just about showcasing scientific excellence; it's about breaking barriers and promoting diversity in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM).  With over 34 Soapbox Science events taking place worldwide, Dublin stands proud as a beacon of inclusivity and empowerment for women and non-binary individuals.

Dr Joanna Drabinska, a postdoc researcher at UCD said,

“I’m thrilled to be part of Soapbox Science Dublin, where I can share the fascinating ways bacteria adapt to stress. This event provides a unique platform to connect with the public and highlight the importance of microbial resilience in our lives. Understanding how bacteria thrive under pressure can lead to breakthroughs in medicine and biotechnology, and I can’t wait to engage with everyone about this exciting topic.”

Eva Woods, a PhD Researcher at Trinity College Dublin shared,

“Participating in Soapbox Science Dublin is an exciting chance to demystify neuroscience and share how we use brain imaging and thought signals to explore the brain's mysteries, specifically how we explore brain diseases like Huntington’s Disease. As an early career researcher, I’m eager to engage with the public, inspire curiosity, and show how our research can unlock new understanding of the human mind and identify new ways of understanding brain diseases like Huntingtons disease. It’s an incredible opportunity to bridge the gap between science and society.”
