New Institute Members, Autumn 2020
The Earth Institute would like to welcome four new members Hannah Boast, Daniel McCrum, Donna Marshall, and Orla Kelly.
Hannah Boast is an Ad Astra Fellow in the School of English, Drama and Film and a member of the Environmental Humanities research theme in the College of Arts and Humanities. Hannah's research focuses on water in modern and contemporary world literature, with a particular interest in literary representations of water crisis, water infrastructure, water justice, and alternative hydro-social futures.
Donna Marshall is Vice-Principal For Research & Innovation in the College Of Business and director of the UCD Centre for Business and Society (CeBaS). Donna's work examines aspects of supply chain management including responsible sourcing, environmental and social sustainability and ethical behaviour in supply chains.
Daniel McCrum is a member of the Centre for Critical Infrastructure Research in the School of Civil Engineering. His work focuses on seismic design, analysis and testing of engineering structures; development of off-site modular construction; and combined cyber and physical threats to critical infrastructure.
Orla Kelly has recently joined the UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice from the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University. Orla specialises in the study of sustainable human well-being, sustainable development, and the social dimensions of climate change. She has expertise in quantitative research and mixed methodologies.
