UCD Commercialisation Bootcamp
The UCD Commercialisation Bootcamp is an exciting commercialisation support programme held at NovaUCD. This programme has been devised and is delivered by the innovation team of UCD Research and Innovation.
The objective of the Bootcamp is to help equip University College Dublin and National College of Art and Design academic researchers, staff and postgraduate research students with the knowledge, skills and understanding of the commercialisation process.
VentureLaunch Accelerator Programme
VentureLaunch is UCD’s exciting accelerator programme, held at NovaUCD, to support the creation and launch of sustainable and profitable new ventures based on UCD intellectual property.
The objective of the programme is to equip UCD researchers with the knowledge, skills and understanding that will be required to work as part of a team leading a new commercial venture. On completion of the programme the expectation is that participating new venture projects will have developed a commercially viable business plan.
There are also three modules of note delivered within the engineering programme curricula which are particularly relevant
(opens in a new window)UCD Engineering Programme Curricula include modules such as Creativity in Design, Entrepreneurship in Engineering, and Innovation Leadership, and for students on the ME Engineering with Business there is a module on Entrepreneurship Management delivered by the School of Business.
The UCD five-year Masters in Engineering degree programme also incorporates a Professional Work Experience (PWE) Internship module, designed to integrate students’ academic and career interests with practical work experience for a period of 6-8 months.
