First global carbon neutral conference in ICT for Sustainability

The first global conference on Information and Communication Technology for Sustainability (ICT4S) will take place in UCD from June 9th - 13th. 

The conference will bring together researchers in ICT for Sustainability with government and industry representatives with a shared interest in using, analysing, designing and deploying ICT for environmental and social sustainability.

Keynote speakers include 

  • Dr Paolo Bertoldi, Senior Expert, European Commission
  • Professor Benno Werlen, UNESCO Chair on Global Understanding for Sustainability, Founding Member of UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES and Chair at Academia Europaea - THE ACADEMY OF EUROPE
  • Professor Jon Summers, Scientific Lead, Data Centres at Research Institutes of Sweden
  • Professor Nic Bidwell, Charles Darwin University, Australia, and Rhodes University, South Africa

ICT4S intends to be carbon neutral, with hubs on all seven continents (including Antarctica) providing remote access via Zoom to the main conference at UCD.

Submissions are currently open for research papers, workshops and the doctoral symposium tracks on all aspects of ICT applied to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Accepted conference papers will be published in the IEEE ICT4S 2025 digital library.
