International Men’s Day is celebrated annually on November 19th. Its aim is to highlight the positive value men bring to the world, their families, and communities and to raise awareness of men’s wellbeing. 

The theme of International Men's Day this year is "Positive Male Role Models", and we consider ourselves lucky to have a great number of these within our School of Computer Science community. 

In the School of Computer Science, we are celebrating International Men's Day this year with a photo competition for our staff and students, to show us what the Men Of CS do outside of Computer Science. We got some fantastic entries to our competition this year, showing lots of variety in the things our Men of CS like to do when there’s not a computer in sight, so picked these four as our Top Four:

In the School of Computer Science, we celebrated Hallowe'en this year in style with our annual Hallowe'en party for our students. 

Beat Saber and Karaoke were some of the events on offer, run very adeptly by members of our school - students really enjoyed getting to belt out their favourite songs on the karaoke machine!

Students were encouraged to dress up for the occasion, with prizes on offer for the best costumes. 

At the start of this new academic year, 2024/2025, the EDI committee of the School of Computer Science would like to sincerely welcome you to the School of Computer Science. This News and Events space will be used throughout the year to update you on upcoming events, awards and highlights of our School Calendar, particularly with regard to equality, diversity and inclusion within the School.
