Chinese New Year 2024 Celebration
On Friday, February 9th, we celebrated the Chinese New Year in the School of Computer Science. We are fortunate to have a highly diverse population of staff and students, with a significant number of Chinese citizens among them. Additionally, our BSc Software Engineering program is conducted in Beijing-Dublin International College (BDIC), strengthening our connections with China within the School of Computer Science.
This event marked the largest participation for any Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) event we have organised thus far, which we are thrilled about. Snacks, including fortune cookies, sweets, and sunflower seeds, were readily available, and a delicious lunch was catered by Hakkahan, an authentic Chinese restaurant located within UCD’s Confucius Institute. We also live-streamed the broadcast from the CMG New Year’s Gala.
The occasion provided a wonderful opportunity for both staff and students to mingle, chat, and celebrate the Chinese New Year together, ushering in the Year of the Dragon.
