Who should attend?
Relevant to scientists in academia and industry who use, or want to use, flow cytometry to underpin their research.

Which course is suitable for me?

Basic Flow Cytometry Course
This course is designed for research students, postdoctoral staff, and technicians who want to develop a strong foundation in flow cytometry. Participants will gain a critical understanding of the principles, practical applications, and data analysis techniques essential for becoming competent, independent users of this technology. The course combines interactive seminars with hands-on practical sessions.

Advanced Flow Cytometry Course

Designed for experienced cytometrists—including students, postdoctoral staff, core facility managers, and technicians—this course focuses on mastering multicolour flow cytometry, optimising data quality, and utilising advanced software for data reanalysis.

Basic Flow Cytometry Course

This course is designed for research students, postdocs, and technicians who want to develop a strong foundation in flow cytometry. Participants will gain a critical understanding of the principles, practical applications, and data analysis techniques essential for becoming competent, independent users of this technology.

The course combines interactive seminars with hands-on practical sessions covering:

  • Fundamental principles of flow cytometry – including hardware, software, and data analysis.
  • Essential panel design and controls – ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
  • Key applications of flow cytometry – apoptosis, proliferation, immunophenotyping, microbiology, extracellular vesicles, and clinical/industrial uses.
  • Best practices for publishing data – ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to standards.

This course brings together expert instructors, including core facility managers, researchers, and application specialists from

Advanced Flow Cytometry Course

Designed for experienced cytometrists—including students, postdocs, core facility managers, and technicians—this course focuses on mastering multicolor flow cytometry, optimizing data quality, and utilizing advanced software for data reanalysis.

Taught by leading experts from academia and industry, this course covers:

•    Advanced fluorochrome principles – understanding fluorescent dyes and spectral properties.
•    Instrument and sample optimization – tips and tricks for achieving high-quality data.
•    Essential controls and compensation strategies – ensuring accurate and reproducible results.
•    Multicolor panel design – including OMIP panels and best practices.
•    Interpreting and presenting data – evaluating published material and improving presentation quality.
•    Exploring advanced applications and software – hands-on experience with cutting-edge instrumentation and three different third-party analysis tools.

This immersive course will help participants develop high standards of practice while exploring new applications and innovative methods in flow cytometry.

Final schedules for both courses will be available soon.
