Description
An upright confocal and Airy scan (ca. 50% better resolution than confocal, but slower scanning) microscope with four laser lines (405, 488, 560, and 640 nm) and a motorized stage. Ideal for imaging biological samples on slides, 3D imaging, scanning larger areas and volumes, and for correlative light-electron microscopy (CLEM). Data saved in original format can be viewed and (basically) processed using the free off-line browser Zen lite available at https://www.zeiss.com/microscopy/en/products/software/zeiss-zen-lite.html
A Linkam cryo-stage can be mounted for imaging of plunge-frozen samples at liquid N2 temperature.
Not suitable for sample screening or imaging of mediocre slides.
Please bring only perfect samples already tested on lesser microscopes.
Users of the LSM 800 may demand complimentary free training if needed for:
1) The epi-fluorescent microscope (M.John) - for sample screening and routine imaging, and
2) Basics of image analysis and volume reconstruction using the Imaging core powerful computer with multiple pre-installed licensed and free analytical software (Image Analysis PC).
