Leica EM GP2 Grid Plunger is the device for the freeze fixation nanoparticles, viruses, or cell monolayers grown on TEM grids, in the liquid ethane at -180C. Automatic blotting will be performed in a chamber with controlled temperature, humidity, and blotting parameters, under stereomicroscope control if needed. Plunge-freezing will be followed by cryo-light microscopy, cryo-soft X-ray tomography, cryo-substitution followed by room temperature imaging (light, electron, or CLEM), or correlative multimodal microscopy.
