The University will meet to confer degrees and other academic distinctions on the dates outlined below. Ceremonies will take place in UCD (opens in a new window) O'Reilly Hall.
Reception following Conferring Ceremony
Congratulations on your upcoming conferring! We are delighted to invite all those graduating during December, and their guests, to a special reception immediately following your conferring ceremony. Receptions will be hosted by the UCD Alumni Relations Team and will take place in the UCD O'Brien Centre for Science. Tea / coffee and refreshments will be served. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your achievements, capture some photos of your special day and connect with fellow graduates, faculty, and staff. We look forward to welcoming you and your guests to this special occasion.

When will the dates for next year be published?
- Dates for next set of ceremonies will be published towards the end of January each year.
When will I get my invitation?
- An invitation email will be sent to your UCD Connect email approximately three to four weeks before the ceremony date.
What should I do if I have not received an invitation?
- If you have not received an invitation email, we recommend that you check your SISWeb to see if you have passed all of your modules or if you have any holds on your account. If you have passed and have no holds, please contact us.
Can I postpone my conferring?
- Postponement of your conferring is not permitted. Degrees must be conferred at the conferring ceremony immediately following the passing of the relevant examinations.
What happens if I cannot attend?
- Successful candidates who cannot attend on the day will have their degrees conferred in absentia and their scrolls will be posted to them after the conferring ceremony. Read more about graduating in absentia.
