UCD Civil Engineering doctoral students win CERI 2024 presentation awards

Congratulations to UCD Civil Engineering doctoral students - Mohadeseh Ashkarkalaei, Md Arman Habib, Mahmoud Abdelhek and Muhammad Saqlain - who won best student presentation awards at the Civil Engineering Research Association in Ireland (CERI 2024) conference held in Alice Perry Engineering Building at University of Galway on the 29th and 30th of August 2024.

Md Arman Habib - ‘Best Presenter Award’ in the ‘Sustainable Cities and Climate Action’ category. Presentation title: Laboratory Measurements of Mean Overtopping Rates at Eco-Engineered Seawalls.

Mohadeseh Ashkarkalaei – ‘Best Presenter Award’ in the 'Energy Stream' category.  Presentation title: Detecting Structural Blade Damage in an Operating Wind Turbine Under Environmental Effects: an Unsupervised Learning Approach.

Mahmoud Abdelhek - ‘Best Presenter Award’ in the 'Energy' category.  Presentation title: An unsupervised learning-based method for scour detection in offshore wind turbine foundations.

Muhammad Saqlain - ‘Best Presenter Award’ in the 'Geotechnical category'. Geotechnics. Presentation title: DAS based active seismic survey to monitor railway embankment performance under seasonal variation.
