Programme Overview 课程简介

The programme is dedicated to cultivating bilingual education specialists with a global perspective. As Ireland's first master's programme specializing in Chinese language education, we bring together top faculty from the Irish Institute for Chinese Studies, the Centre for English and Global Languages, and the School of Education to create an integrated "Chinese Pedagogy + Educational Theory + Professional English" tripartite training system. Highlights include:

Duration 学制

One-year full-time (Level 9, 90 ECT credits). 全职一年

The Irish Third Level Graduate scheme exists to allow non-EEA graduates who hold a level 9 award to remain in Ireland after their studies for a period of 24 months. Details can be accessed (opens in a new window)here.

Qualification Awarded

For the students who have successfully completed the programme, an award GPA is calculated and a MA in Teaching Chinese Language and Culture is awarded.

Entry requirements 录取条件

• 2.1 honours degree at level 8 (or equivalent) in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, Chinese languages and literature or any other relevant subject area; 
• IELTS: An average score of 6.5 over all components and a minimum of 6.0 in each band on the Academic Version;
• TOEFL (iBT): a minimum score of 90 is required with no less than 21 in writing and at least 19 in every other section; 
• Duolingo English Test (DET): Overall Score of 120 with at least 110 in each Subscore
• Native / near-native level of Mandarin Chinese (i.e., HSK5 or above).

• 具有人文学科的本科毕业文凭和学士学位，平均成绩达到70%以上；
• 雅思成绩总分在6.5及以上，各单项不低于6；
• 托福总分在90以上，其中写作不低于21，其它单项不低于19；
• 多邻国英语测试（DET）成绩120分以上，单项不低于110；
• 中文达到或接近母语水平（HSK5或以上）。

Scholarships 奖学金

A merit-based scholarship of €2,500 will be awarded to 10 selected non-EU students admitted for 2026/27 entry, who are paying the full international tuition fee of €22,600. This scholarship will be applied as a partial tuition fee reduction. (Students paying EU fees are not eligible for this scholarship.)
