UCD Lyons Dairy Calf Education and Research Facility: Development Completed

Designed using the best national and international knowledge in calf housing, it incorporates state-of-the-art infrastructure and precision agriculture technologies. Fully completed, the facility will be fully operational in Spring 2025, with the arrival of the first dairy calves.

2024 Honorary Doctorate Awarded to Missie Collins

Healthcare activist Ms Missie Collins received a UCD Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science for her valued contributions to the UCD led All-island Traveller Health Study and decades-long track record of advocacy for the Traveller community.

The 2024 CHAS Graduate Research Symposium

The CHAS Graduate Research Symposium took place on May 1st 2024 in The O’Brien Science Building Auditorium. Graduate researchers from across our 5 schools attended showcasing their work across the disciplines of Science, Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture. Attendees witnessed an afternoon of excellence in terms of the quality, diversity and leadership in the researchers' presentations.

Dr Anthony Fauci Honoured by UCD School of Medicine

Dr Anthony Fauci has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship, the highest honour that the UCD School of Medicine can confer. Dr Fauci was awarded the Fellowship on Thursday the 18 th of April at an intimate event at the University Club on Belfield campus.

Silver Athena SWAN Award for UCD Vet School

CHAS schools now have two silver awards; in 2023 the School of Agriculture and Food Science also achieved the distinction.

University College Dublin announced the launch of a new Centre for One Health on February 22nd 2024. The Centre is led by Director, Professor Tony Holohan and Deputy Director Professor Gerald Barry.

Lifeways Group 20th Anniversary Event

The Lifeways cross-generation cohort study was established in 2001 with funding from the Health Research Board. In February 2023 the last of our young people turns 20. We plan a half day event to mark the establishment of the study, still going strong today.
