China Partnership Colleges
Dr Alex Runchman and Dr Stephen Kelly represent the Centre at UCD’s China Partnership Colleges: Beijing-Dublin International College (BDIC), Chang’an-Dublin International College of Transportation (CDIC), and Guangzhou-Dublin International College of Life Sciences & Technology (GDIC).
They coordinate Academic English modules at Stage One and Stage Two, and are responsible for curriculum development; syllabus and materials design; all aspects of assessment; recruiting, managing, and training a team of both international and Chinese teachers; and liaising with, and providing quality assurance to, stakeholders.

Summer Professional Certificate in TESOL
The Professional Certificate in TESOL is aimed at experienced TESOL teachers. The programme is designed to provide teachers with practical knowledge and skills they can immediately apply to their teaching practice. Students will see a difference in how they approach their teaching and in the value they give to their students.
Through the programme students will develop best practice through engagement with state-of-the art research and acquire a familiarity with technological advances related to the field.
What will I learn?
The programme emphasises the importance of research-informed practice, critical reflection, autonomous learning and the translation of theory into practice. Our TESOL team will also foster collaboration with local and international experts in the field to ensure that students can network, share best practices and contribute to the growing professionalisation of the TESOL field.
The modules will take place over 6 weeks in the Summer term. To receive the Professional Cert in TESOL students will have to complete 15 credits over three modules.
