In the following interview Professor Michael O'Neill discusses his research which focusses on creating the next generation of Smart Business Systems. He shares insights into how we can take inspiration from the natural world around us to build intelligent and adaptive business systems.
In this interview, Dr. Paula Carroll discusses her research in the area of Business Analytics and Operations Research. Dr. Carroll shares insights into how we can use analytics and mathematical modelling to help solve real world business problems.
Business Analytics is about using the ever-increasing amount of data we have available internally and externally to improve insight into our business and to drive better, more focused decisions. It is an exciting new course built in response to a recognised skills shortage in Ireland. It is a growing and important part of the modern business world where data is a key source of information on how to move companies forward, how to inact changes and how to improve processes.
In this presentation Professor Cathal Brugha talks about the Centre for Business Analytics in UCD and Ireland becoming the global hub of Business Analytics.
Members of the CBA collaborate with researchers elsewhere in UCD, notably with the School of Mathematical Sciences and the Natural Computing Research and Applications Group (NCRA). The CBA also plays a central role in the (opens in a new window)Analytics Institute.
