Our panel of UCD and business experts will discuss how cyber threat intelligence can help optimise incident response processes so enterprises can respond faster and reduce adversary opportunity.
- Pavel Gladyshev - Associate Professor, UCD School of Computer Science - a digital forensics expert, Pavel leads the Digital Forensics Investigation Research Lab which focuses on the development of new investigative technology. He has also developed training courses in cyber-crime investigation for several law enforcement organisations.
- Owen O'Connor - Director of Information Security , Salesforce Security Response Center - Owen is an experienced technology and security leader, with over 20 years’ experience spanning technology, biotech, financial services and consulting. His career has focused on digital evidence, including investigating technology misuse and responding to security incidents.
- Liliana Pasquale - Assistant Professor, UCD School of Computer Science - an expert in security regulatory compliance, Liliana's work focuses on developing secure systems with the capability of preventing and investigating security incidents.
- Niall McGrath - Senior Director Global Security Operations, DocuSign - Niall leads DocuSign's Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), Threat Intelligence, Tooling/SOAR, DLP, and eDiscovery teams and has previously worked for Workday, Amazon and Bank of Ireland.

COVID-19 is impacting every Organisation worldwide. Preserving business continuity and building enterprise resilience has become a priority. Moving from organizational networks to remote working, significantly increased cyber-risk and it pushes the defence line outside of the organisation. Setting up home services could pose a potential security risk when combined with possible human-error-enabled security failures. Information security professionals need to adapt their defense model to address new threats and to reduce the risk of insider threats incidents.

UCD Cyber-security Research Colloquium

Cyber- security is not just about technology, but also about how people interact with systems, with each other, how businesses interact, and how policy and politics influence cyberspace
This event will cover a broad spectrum of research topics including: AI-enabled cybersecurity, cryptography, cybercrime investigation, digital forensics, and hardware-related security, network security, privacy, trust, human behavior, policy, and security-by-design. The colloquium will combine academic and industrial sessions, with contributions from leading scientists and practitioners in the field.
