Congratulations to all Arts and Humanities BA Joint Honours students who received a Patrick Semple Medal for their top-performing results in the 2024/2025 academic year. Professor Regina Uí Chollatáin, Principal and Dean, College of Arts and Humanities welcomed the winners along with staff and faculty from across the College for the medal presentation. The UCD Semple medal was established in 1993 to honour Professor Patrick Semple who was the 1st Dean of the Faculty of UCD Arts from 1909 -1948. Professor Patrick Semple was the first Dean of the Faculty of Arts (from 1909 -1948). The Patrick Semple medal was established in 1993 to recognise distinguished students in the BA Joint Honours programme. A medal is awarded to the stage 2 student who has the highest GPA above 3.68 in a subject in stage 1.
