What is a Needs Assessment?
A Needs Assessment is a simple and short conversation with one of our Disability Support Specialists to understand your needs and determine the best support for you.
During this 30-minute session, we will identify the most suitable accommodations to support you during your studies at UCD. This may include academic support, exam support, assistive technology support and on campus accommodation support.
Students will have to agree with the accommodations and the terms of the Release and Disclosure of Disability Information Declaration and agree with Disability Support Privacy Statement. Once completed the Needs Assessment, students will receive the Certificate of Disability outlining the in-class and exams support approved. As part of the Needs Assessment, DSS will release the details of your support to staff members on InfoHub Classlists.
Some Needs Assessments will take place by Zoom video call. If you would like more information on how to use Zoom, please see our Guide to Zoom Needs Assessments.
