Our lab is jointly located at UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering (SBFE) and UCD Conway Institute. We house a range of infrastructure for microalgal cultivation and biomass processing, including growth setups and bioreactors of different scales, sterile facilities, ultrasonication, bead milling and microwave digestion units, and lipid extraction system. Additionally, we have access to core infrastructure in chemical analysis (HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-OES and CN analyser), imaging (fluorescent, confocal, TEM), genomics, and flow cytometry at various facilities across UCD to enable state-of-the-art research in microalgae.
