Applications are invited for a Temporary (until 28th February 2026) post of a Research Assistant in Immuno-oncology within UCD School of Medicine and Systems Biology Ireland.
University College Dublin (UCD) is seeking applications for a Research Assistant to work on an immuno-oncology project at Systems Biology Ireland (SBI). This is a collaborative project between SBI and AstraZeneca (AZ) as part of the Precision Oncology Ireland (POI) programme. The project aims to understand how immune checkpoint inhibitors work and how we can improve their efficacy for cancer therapy.
The successful applicant will be part of the Kolch Group at SBI. This is an interdisciplinary team, within which the post holder will work closely with biologists, computational modelers, and clinical/research students. The postholder will assist with the characterization of immune cells using (i) molecular methods (transcriptomics, proteomics, and phosphoproteomics); (ii) biochemical methods (immunoprecipitation, Western botting, ELISA); and (iii) cell biology methods (immune cell isolation, multicolour flow cytometry, assays to measure proliferation, survival and cytokine production). To be successful in the role, the postholder will need to be experienced in cell culture, basic biochemistry and / or molecular biology.
Research Assistant Salary Scale: €31,462 - €37,879 per annum.
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
