eCancer Interview with Walter Kolch from EAPM 2017 Conference
While SBI Director Walter Kolch was recently attending the European Alliance for Personalised Medicine Congress 2017 in Belfast, he sat down for a talk with eCancer.
In the interview he describes the importance of using computational modelling to design personalised models for cancer patients that can improve diagnosis and treatment. These computational models predict the dynamic behaviour of communication networks within cells, which are altered in cancer controlling disease progression and therapy response.
Using a childhood cancer, neuroblastoma, as example he presented data on how personalised computational models can help us to identify high risk patients and how they can be used to predict treatment success.
