Turnitin Originality Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement for Turnitin Originality

University College Dublin (UCD) is committed to making its plagiarism detection tool Turnitin accessible, in accordance with the European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2025.

This accessibility statement applies to the Turnitin Feedback Studio: Originality integration (Version 1 as on Date 20 June 2025) hosted by University College Dublin.

Getting the most from this site

Turnitin Feedback Studio:Originality is an integrated tool within UCD Virtual Learning Environment ,Brightspace, that supports the detection of plagiarism within student submissions. The tool  can be only accessed from within specific modules in Brightspace when enabled by instructors. There are two views within the tool: instructor and student view.

The platform provides several key accessibility features designed to support diverse user needs. The interface ensures visual clarity by maintaining sufficient contrast for both text and non-text elements and avoiding the use of color as the sole means of conveying information. Users can resize text up to 200% without losing functionality and navigate efficiently using skip links to bypass repeated content blocks. There is consistent navigation and identification across pages in the tool. Furthermore, the platform avoids "keyboard traps," allowing focus to move freely away from components, and provides a clearly visible focus indicator for keyboard users.
