Accessibility Statement for Evasys

University College Dublin (UCD) is committed to making its student feedback tool, EvaSys accessible, in accordance with the European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2025.

This accessibility statement applies to the EvaSys student feedback system (Version 1 as on 4th Dec 2025) hosted by University College Dublin.

Getting the most from this site

EvaSys is a student feedback tool integrated within UCD systems. It is a part of UCD ecosystem and can be accessed with UCD Connect (www.ucd.ie/connect) and accessed via UCD VLE, Brightspace. It has both instructor and student dashboard, it can automate the entire survey lifecycle—from creation and distribution (online, paper, hybrid) to data collection and detailed reporting—primarily for educational institutions (course evaluations) and businesses (feedback, quality management) to gather insights, improve performance, and close feedback loops efficiently.

Compliance status

EvaSys can be divided into 3 main functionalities: Survey Portals for students and instructors, surveys and reports (both in HTML and pdfed). 

EvaSys is fully compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA for the above functionalities.

Evaluation Methods

Manual testing included keyboard testing (with and without Screen Reader), NVDA and JAWS Screen Reader, tested on Windows 10 by using the latest version of Firefox as well as the latest version of Chrome.

Semi-automated checks have been carried out by using Firefox Developer Tools, Web Developer Toolbar (Firefox), Chrome Developer Tools, Color Contrast Analyzer and Bookmarklets for different purposes like simulating text spacing (WCAG 2.1). In addition, for WCAG 2.0 AA a user testing with NVDA in combination with Firefox and JAWS has been done.

Please try to alert Module Coordinators if you need any specific accommodation at the start of the module. Students without documented disabilities who may need accommodations can discuss this with Module Coordinators  privately or set a meeting to discuss specific needs (UCD 2022d).

How we are improving accessibility

University College Dublin has invested in digital accessibility in the following ways.

  • Ensuring accessibility is a key criterion in all digital procurement. 
  • Investing in the ALLY system to provide automated accessibility checking and reporting of both our digital platforms and the content uploaded to them.
  • Optional staff training and development in digital accessibility practices.
  • Tool native accessibility features such as: 
    • Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen.
    • Keyboard Navigation
    • Using it with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver.
