Accreditation
Rooted in its context, the UCD Architecture is global in its outlook. Uniquely in Ireland, its programmes are accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects ((opens in a new window)RIBA) as well as the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland ((opens in a new window)RIAI), thus ensuring all graduates have an internationally benchmarked qualification. In addition, UCD Architecture has received an International Certification designation from the National Architectural Accrediting Board ((opens in a new window)NAAB*) of the US. The Landscape Architecture Programme is accredited by the Irish Landscape Institute ((opens in a new window)ILI) and recognised by the European Foundation for Landscape Architecture ((opens in a new window)EFLA). Planning is accredited by the Irish Planning Institute ((opens in a new window)IPI) and the Royal Town Planning Institute ((opens in a new window)RTPI).

*International Certification identifies a program as comparable in educational outcomes in all significant aspects to a U.S.-based program and indicates that it provides an educational experience meeting acceptable standards, even though such a program may differ in format or method of delivery. It further indicates that a program has met the Conditions for NAAB International Certification, which are comparable to the NAAB Conditions for Accreditation in all significant aspects. Although ICert is not a certification, it represents that a program of architecture has achieved the highest standard of quality assurance in professional architecture education.
